Digital Surveyor

Digital Reality Corp Scotland

Important: Scotland-Wide Travel Is a Core Requirement
This role supports a major long-term project covering hundreds of properties across Scotland.
Frequent travel across Scotland is a fundamental part of the position and will take place on a weekly basis. Sites are located nationally, so the successful candidate must be comfortable travelling significant distances, working independently across different locations and staying away from home overnight when project requirements demand it.
This is not a role based primarily in Glasgow or from home. While remote working applies when carrying out post-processing and project deliverables, the core of the position is field-based and driven by project locations across Scotland.
Candidates should therefore only apply if they are genuinely comfortable with regular national travel as an ongoing part of their working week.
About Us
Digital Reality Corp (DRC) is a spatial technology company that captures and publishes 3D information about real-world interiors on an industrial scale. Our technology is transforming industries by digitising the world's interiors with new levels of accuracy, consistency, and insight.
Our product, Stak, offers commercial property professionals an all-in-one solution for creating precise, data-rich digital assets - from verified floorplans and CAD models to immersive virtual tours. Built on advanced 3D capture, machine learning, and automation, Stak delivers accurate, feature-rich outputs that power decision-making across real estate, construction, and asset management.
We have digitised more than 100,000 buildings, 250 million square feet, and $350 billion of real estate. We have staff in the UK, UAE, Singapore and South Africa. We are backed by leading real estate companies including Grosvenor Property Group and Cushman & Wakefield.
DRC is a place for people who think big and want to create extraordinary things. Our culture values curiosity, craftsmanship, and collaboration—we're constantly learning, evolving, and pushing boundaries to achieve our ambitious goals.
Why Join Us?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a Proptech business entering a significant long-term project across Scotland. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality digital survey data for a major programme of work while using industry-leading reality capture technology.
You'll enjoy a high level of autonomy, work with cutting-edge equipment, and be part of a collaborative team that's redefining how buildings are captured and digitised.
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Digital Surveyor based in Scotland (preferably Glasgow) to support a major long-term project spanning approximately three years.
The role involves capturing highly accurate spatial data of properties using industry-leading hardware and proprietary software. In addition to fieldwork, you will process survey data and produce detailed Stak Verified measured survey floorplans.
This is a hybrid role, with extensive travel to sites across Scotland. When you are not on site, you will work remotely from home processing survey data and producing project deliverables.
The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, managing their own schedule, and travelling extensively. Weekly travel across Scotland will be a core part of the role, with occasional overnight stays depending on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Capture accurate spatial data of properties using Leica laser scanning equipment, including BLK2GO, BLK360 and RTC.
Carry out measured building surveys independently, ensuring accuracy, completeness and efficiency.
Complete Ground Control Point (GCP) and geo-referenced surveys where required.
Process raw survey data into usable digital formats using industry-standard software.
Produce accurate measured survey floorplans using proprietary software, Adobe Creative Suite and other tools.
Complete post-processing and deliverable production remotely when not undertaking fieldwork.
Travel extensively throughout Scotland, often on a weekly basis, with occasional overnight stays as required by project needs.
Communicate professionally with clients and project teams throughout the survey process.
Represent the DRC brand positively during all client interactions.
Maintain survey equipment and ensure all hardware is used, transported and stored safely.
Keep up to date with developments in digital surveying technology and contribute to continuous improvement of survey workflows.

Requirements

Proven experience in land surveying, measured building surveying or a closely related surveying discipline.
Strong practical experience carrying out as-built or measured surveys independently.
Demonstrable hands-on experience using LiDAR or laser scanning equipment in the field.
Proficiency using Leica laser scanning equipment, ideally including BLK2GO, BLK360 and/or RTC.
Experience processing scan or survey data using software such as Cyclone or similar platforms.
Experience producing 2D measured floorplans in line with recognised surveying standards.
Experience carrying out Ground Control Point (GCP), geo-referenced or GNSS-based surveys.
Strong understanding of surveying accuracy, control and quality assurance.
Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, for floorplan production and annotation is desirable.
Drone surveying experience is highly desirable.
Comfortable learning and adapting to new technologies, software and workflows.
Highly organised and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Willing and able to travel throughout Scotland every week as a permanent and ongoing requirement of the role.
Flexible to undertake overnight stays when required by project locations and schedules.
Excellent attention to detail, spatial awareness and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong communication and client-facing skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Access to your own vehicle for travel to project locations.

Working Arrangements
Working hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm.
This is primarily a field-based position. Your working location will vary according to project requirements, with regular travel to sites across Scotland.
When you are not required on-site, you will work remotely from home completing data processing and project deliverables.
Applicants should be comfortable with a working pattern that is driven by site locations, client requirements and project schedules rather than a fixed office-based routine.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £40,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
Application question(s):

Do you have the legal right to work and travel within the UK without requiring sponsorship?
Are you fluent in English and comfortable communicating with the public?
Do you hold a valid, unrestricted and clean UK driver's license?
Do you have experience or familiarity with LiDAR scanner technology for data capture?

COPTRZ Leeds LS1 5QX

Location: Hybrid/Remote depending on home location – Leeds LS1, with travel to specialist training sites across the UKSalary: Up to £42,000 per yearContract: Full-time, Permanent
This isn't just another drone instructor role.
If you want to spend every day delivering the same classroom course from the same slide deck, this probably isn't the role for you.
At COPTRZ, our instructors work across commercial drone training, advanced flight operations, specialist aircraft, BVLOS, surveying, mapping, technical handovers and bespoke customer programmes.
One week you could be delivering an RPC-L1. The next, helping a commercial client understand a new aircraft platform, delivering specialist CPD, supporting an advanced operational exercise or helping us develop the next generation of UAS training.
We're looking for someone who wants to become one of the best commercial UAS instructors in the industry and we'll invest in helping you get there.
What you'll actually be doing
You'll join an experienced training team delivering practical, technically credible training to everyone from new remote pilots to experienced commercial operators.
Your role will include:

Delivering CAA-regulated UAS training, including A2 CofC, GVC and RPC programmes
Delivering ground school, flight training, examinations and practical flight assessments
Coaching pilots in flight planning, operational decision-making and safe UAS operations
Delivering advanced CPD and specialist commercial training
Supporting training involving BVLOS and more complex UAS operations
Carrying out customer handovers and technical training on commercial drone platforms
Delivering courses in areas such as mapping, surveying, automated flight and data capture
Running webinars, online training and customer workshops
Helping develop new course content, training assets and practical exercises
Working directly with commercial, public-sector and specialist customers
Helping us continually improve how professional drone pilots are trained

This is a role where you'll be expected to bring ideas, challenge how things are done and help shape the future of the COPTRZ Training Academy.
Who we're looking for
You don't necessarily need to arrive as a fully qualified instructor.
We're more interested in finding someone with credible real-world UAS experience, strong technical knowledge and the ability to engage and develop other people.
You may currently be:

A commercial drone operator
A UAS instructor or assessor
A military or emergency-services UAS operator
A surveyor or technical operator using drones professionally
An experienced remote pilot looking to move into training
A trainer from another technical industry with strong UAS experience

What matters is that you understand drones beyond simply flying them and have the ambition to develop into a highly capable professional instructor.
Experience that would really stand out

BVLOS operational experience, civilian or military
CAA A2 CofC, GVC or RPC-L1
Teaching or assessing qualifications such as Level 3 AET
Commercial UAS operational experience
Experience with DJI and other enterprise drone platforms
Mapping, photogrammetry or surveying workflows
Automated and mission-planned flight
Specialist sensors and payloads
Experience training customers or colleagues on technical equipment

Don't tick every box?
Apply anyway.
If you already have strong UAS or training experience but haven't yet collected every qualification, we can help you get there.
Depending on your existing experience, COPTRZ can support and fund qualifications including:

A2 CofC
GVC
RPC-L1
Teaching qualifications
Assessor qualifications
Specialist manufacturer and platform training

We want to develop instructors for the long term, not simply recruit someone to fill a classroom.
Where this role can take you
We've created a structured progression route for our UAS instructors, allowing you to increase your technical capability, responsibility and earning potential as you develop.
There are opportunities to progress into specialist areas including:

Advanced commercial UAS operations
BVLOS training and assessment
Specialist platform training
Surveying and mapping
Technical product handovers
Instructor standardisation
Course development
Training leadership

Salary is up to £42,000 depending on your existing qualifications, experience and level of instructor capability.
Why COPTRZ?
COPTRZ is one of the UK's leading commercial drone solution and training providers.
We work with organisations across industries including construction, surveying, infrastructure, emergency services, public sector and specialist commercial operations.
Joining our training team gives you access to something many instructor roles can't offer: variety.
You'll work with different aircraft, technologies, customers, operating environments and training requirements while continuing to develop your own capability.
You'll also have the opportunity to get involved in the areas shaping the future of the industry, including RPC, BVLOS, advanced UAS operations and specialist commercial applications.
Benefits

Salary up to £42,000
26 days' holiday plus 8 bank holidays
Company pension
Westfield Health
Perkbox membership
Sick pay
Employee referral programme
Funded professional qualifications and specialist training
Company events and social activities

A few things you will need
Because our instructors deliver practical training around the country, you must have:

A full UK driving licence
The ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK and even sometimes abroad
The flexibility to work from our Leeds office, remotely and at external training locations

If you're already part of the UAS industry and you're looking for a role where you can develop your own expertise while helping develop the pilots who will shape its future, we'd like to hear from you.
Pay: Up to £42,000.00 per year

Casual dress
Company events
Company pension
Discounted or free food
Employee discount

UAS Instructor: Commercial Drone Training

COPTRZ Leeds

Location: Hybrid/Remote depending on home location – Leeds LS1, with travel to specialist training sites across the UK
Salary: Up to £42,000 per year
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

• Delivering CAA-regulated UAS training, including A2 CofC, GVC and RPC programmes
• Delivering ground school, flight training, examinations and practical flight assessments
• Coaching pilots in flight planning, operational decision-making and safe UAS operations
• Delivering advanced CPD and specialist commercial training
• Supporting training involving BVLOS and more complex UAS operations
• Carrying out customer handovers and technical training on commercial drone platforms
• Delivering courses in areas such as mapping, surveying, automated flight and data capture
• Running webinars, online training and customer workshops
• Helping develop new course content, training assets and practical exercises
• Working directly with commercial, public-sector and specialist customers
• Helping us continually improve how professional drone pilots are trained

This is a role where you'll be expected to bring ideas, challenge how things are done and help shape the future of the COPTRZ Training Academy.

Who we're looking for

You don't necessarily need to arrive as a fully qualified instructor.

We're more interested in finding someone with credible real-world UAS experience, strong technical knowledge and the ability to engage and develop other people.

You may currently be:
• A commercial drone operator
• A UAS instructor or assessor
• A military or emergency-services UAS operator
• A surveyor or technical operator using drones professionally
• An experienced remote pilot looking to move into training
• A trainer from another technical industry with strong UAS experience

What matters is that you understand drones beyond simply flying them and have the ambition to develop into a highly capable professional instructor.

Experience that would really stand out
• BVLOS operational experience, civilian or military
• CAA A2 CofC, GVC or RPC-L1
• Teaching or assessing qualifications such as Level 3 AET
• Commercial UAS operational experience
• Experience with DJI and other enterprise drone platforms
• Mapping, photogrammetry or surveying workflows
• Automated and mission-planned flight
• Specialist sensors and payloads
• Experience training customers or colleagues on technical equipment

Don't tick every box?

Apply anyway.

If you already have strong UAS or training experience but haven't yet collected every qualification, we can help you get there.

Depending on your existing experience, COPTRZ can support and fund qualifications including:
• A2 CofC
• GVC
• RPC-L1
• Teaching qualifications
• Assessor qualifications
• Specialist manufacturer and platform training

We want to develop instructors for the long term, not simply recruit someone to fill a classroom.

Where this role can take you

We've created a structured progression route for our UAS instructors, allowing you to increase your technical capability, responsibility and earning potential as you develop.

There are opportunities to progress into specialist areas including:
• Advanced commercial UAS operations
• BVLOS training and assessment
• Specialist platform training
• Surveying and mapping
• Technical product handovers
• Instructor standardisation
• Course development
• Training leadership

Benefits
• Salary up to £42,000
• 26 days' holiday plus 8 bank holidays
• Company pension
• Westfield Health
• Perkbox membership
• Sick pay
• Employee referral programme
• Funded professional qualifications and specialist training
• Company events and social activities
• Casual dress
• Free drinks, breakfast and snacks at our Leeds office

A few things you will need

Because our instructors deliver practical training around the country, you must have:
• A full UK driving licence
• The ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK and even sometimes abroad
• The flexibility to work from our Leeds office, remotely and at external training locations

If you're already part of the UAS industry and you're looking for a role where you can develop your own expertise while helping develop the pilots who will shape its future, we'd like to hear from you.

Pay: Up to £42,000.00 per year

Benefits:
• Casual dress
• Company events
• Company pension
• Discounted or free food
• Employee discount
• Private dental insurance
• Private medical insurance
• Referral programme
• Sick pay

Licence/Certification:
• Driving Licence (required)

Willingness to travel:
• 100% (required)
